Accessibility
Stories are for everyone, and so is this shop.
I want every reader to be able to browse, choose a book, and check out on amycampbellbooks.com without hitting a wall, whether you use a screen reader, navigate by keyboard, zoom way in, or just have tired eyes at midnight.
What I've done
I aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. So far that includes:
- Descriptive alt text on product images, so you know what's on the page even if you can't see it
- Text and button colors chosen to meet contrast standards
- A logical heading structure so screen readers can jump between sections
- Clearly labeled forms, including the newsletter sign-up and contact form
- A site you can navigate with a keyboard, including a "Skip to content" link
- Layouts that work on phones and when zoomed in
I review the site regularly, especially when I add new books.
What's outside my control
Some parts of the shop are run by other services, such as Shopify's checkout, BookFunnel's ebook and audiobook delivery, and MailerLite's newsletter forms. I choose these partners with care, but I can't change everything about how they work. If one of them gets in your way, please tell me anyway. I'll help you get your book another way.
Something not working?
If anything on this site is hard to use, I genuinely want to know, and I'll make it right.
Email me at amy@amycampbellbooks.com and tell me what page you were on and what happened. I'll get back to you within a few business days, and if the site is giving you trouble with checkout, I'll help you finish your order another way.
